CEDAR CITY, Utah, July 25, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Cedar City say they have been responding to a rash of auto burglaries due to residents leaving their cars unlocked.

A news release from the Cedar City Police Department said officials responded to 10 reports of auto burglaries on Pioneer Day — all for vehicles that were not locked.

The thefts happened in the Fiddler’s Canyon area, police said. The suspects stole wallets, cash, guns and electronic devices.

“Please lock your cars and don’t keep valuables inside,” the news release said. “Please lock your houses.”

Anyone that has seen anything suspicious is asked to call the CCPD at the non-emergency number 435-586-9445.
