Cedar City police searching for man after miniature piano theft

CEDAR CITY, Utah, April 2, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials in Cedar City are searching for a man who allegedly stole a miniature piano from a drugstore in Cedar City.

The theft occurred at a store on Main Street on March 19, the Cedar City Police Department said in a Facebook post Tuesday morning. Multiple people commenting on the post identified the store in question as Bulloch’s Drug Store at 91 N. Main St.

“With your help, we can solve this mystery of who this young man in the vintage 1960s tie-dyed shirt wandering around a local business is,” the post said.

“He is suspected in a theft of a miniature piano and we would like to know who he is. If you see him lurking around in his inconspicuous T-shirt, maybe playing a tune on the stolen miniature piano, please call dispatch.”

Officials said the man concealed the miniature instrument in his pants as he left the store.

In surveillance photos, the young man is wearing the tie-dyed shirt,blue jeans and black and white sneakers.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call the Cedar City Police Department at 435-586-2956, and ask for Officer Tyler Coons and reference case #C19-01137.

  1. I think that the crime does not justify being blown up on the internet. Shame on whomever thought this was a good idea. Looks like a very young person who will pay with ridicule now and forever more. You think this is worth it for a trinket?
