SOLITUDE, Utah, Jan. 14, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — An 8-year-old boy fell 30 feet from a chairlift at Solitude ski resort on Saturday, but appeared to be unhurt.

The boy was treated at the scene by medics from the Unified Fire Authority, which then transported him to Primary Children’s Medical Center, according to UFA Captain Dominic Burchett.

The boy was being checked for any unseen injuries, Burchett said.

“The crew is still there (Primary Children’s), trying to get a chance to talk to them,” Burchett told Gephardt Daily at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Unified Police Lt. Brian Lohrke said his department also responded, but Unified Fire took the lead in treating the boy.

“The child just took a tumble,” Lohrke said. “There were no apparent injuries.”
