WELLINGTON, UTAH – May 13, 2015 (Gepahrdt Daily) – The parents of a small child found wandering unattended by a city park early this morning have been located.

According to deputy Wally Hendricks, Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, the department got a call around 6:50 a.m. that someone had seen a child wandering near Highway 6 with just a diaper on.

“We arrived and took custody of the child and since immediate efforts to locate the girl’s parents were unsuccessful, we brought her back to the Child Justice Center to be cared for,” said Hendricks. “We were not able to get the child to talk so we didn’t have a lot to go on.”

Carbon County Sheriff’s Office then placed a post on their Facebook and within minutes they were given the information on the parents. Hendricks confirmed that the mother of the child is talking with officials trying to piece together what happened. “We now have the mother in talking with the Department of Child and Family Services and the incident is currently under investigation,” he said.

More information will be provided once it is available.
