WEST JORDAN, Utah, Jan. 5, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The West Jordan Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a burglary suspect who ransacked a home while a 12-year-old resident slept through it all.

According to a news release from Detective Brett Madsen, WJPD public information officer, the incident happened at about 9:23 a.m. Wednesday, when the suspect damaged the dog-door to gain access to the interior doorknob/lock and entered the home.

The suspect took several items from the home and fled in a white, mid-2000s four-door Chevrolet Cavalier. The vehicle had distinguishing black rims and a broken, taped passenger-side rear window, the release states.

When the 12-year-old later woke up, he saw that the home had been ransacked, and police were called a short while later.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the suspect is asked to call the West Jordan Police Department at 801-840-4000. Reference case #18H000121.
