KAMAS, Utah, Nov. 20, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A collision between a Jeep and a dump truck Tuesday afternoon sent two drivers to the hospital and the dump truck into the side of a laundromat.

The crash happened at about 4:30 p.m. as a blue 2004 Jeep Liberty was westbound on 100 South, a Department of Public Safety news release says.

As the female driver of the Jeep came to the intersection of 100 South and State Route 32, she failed to stop at the stop sign and proceeded into the intersection.

A white 2003 Kenworth dump truck was southbound on SR-32.

“The driver of the dump truck did not have a traffic control device and was traveling at an estimated speed of 30 miles per hour,” the news release states. “The dump truck impacted the passenger side of the Jeep and began to push it off of the right shoulder.”

The male driver of the dump truck wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was thrown to the floor of the truck, leaving him unable to stop it.

As a result, the dump truck ran into the north wall of a laundromat at 150 S. Main.

Both the driver of the truck and the driver of the Jeep were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Their injuries were not life-threatening, according to the news release.

No one was in the laundromat at the time of the crash.

Officials do not suspect impairment as a factor in the accident.
