SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 30, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Reconstruction on 900 East from Hollywood Avenue to 2700 South will begin on Monday, officials said.
“This #FundingOurFutureSLC project will improve pavement, sidewalks, and gutters while improving safety and transportation options for all roadway users,” said a tweet from SLC Transportation, Engineering and Streets. “To stay informed on this project, please email ‘Updates’ to [email protected]. You can also email or call in questions to 801-210-8433.”
The project is likely to be completed in fall of 2021, the tweet said.
The SLC.gov website says crews will begin work in the median as they work on rehabilitating the sewer line and improvements to the storm drain. Construction will take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. with increased noise, vibrations, and dust.
“One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction,” the website says. “Medians and shoulders on the roadway will be closed throughout construction. Drivers are encouraged to use 700 East or 1100 East as an alternative route.”
On-street parking will be restricted at all hours during construction, the news release said. Cars remaining in the construction zone will be towed at owner’s expense. Residential and business access will be maintained.
A number of driveway approaches and curb and gutter segments will be repaired with this project; crews will notify impacted residents before access to driveways is restricted due to construction activities.
