FARMINGTON, Utah, Oct. 23, 2023 (Gephardt Daily) — A construction worker is dead after a crane accident Monday morning on Interstate 15 in Davis County.
The victim was a 42-year-old man, according to information from the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT). The accident occurred near the Glover Lane overpass, in Farmington. Two southbound lanes of I-15 are closed during the investigation.
“This morning there was a fatal construction incident involving a member the West Davis Highway project crew,” says a statement from the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT). “Utah’s transportation community is extremely close knit, and we all mourn the loss of this dedicated teammate.”
Details on the accident are limited. More information is expected to be released during the day.
UDOT spokesman John Gleason spoke with reporters.
“It’s the dedication of these men and women who are out here that have made this project possible and so to have something like this happen where we lose a member of our construction team, it’s hard to process.”
