Construction worker injured in Salt Lake City trench accident

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 20, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A construction worker suffered traumatic but non-life-threatening leg injuries after concrete and dirt fell into the trench he was working in Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred in the area of 1400 S. 1400 East, the Salt Lake City Fire Department posted on Facebook at 4:45 p.m.

“SLCFD Heavy Rescue 5 was able to safely extricate a construction worker who was injured after concrete and dirt fell onto him,” the Facebook post said.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be investigating the incident, officials said.
