WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Oct. 5, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Interstate 215 West in West Valley City was closed northbound and southbound briefly Wednesday night after a crane struck a power line.

A crane being used to work on the I-215 West reconstruction struck one of the power lines near southbound I-215 West at 2700 South, according to Marissa Villaseñor, spokeswoman for Utah Highway Patrol.

Villaseñor said the damaged power line was then snagged by a dump truck and dragged across all lanes of northbound I-215 West.

All of I-215 West was closed down after the incident at approximately 10 p.m., but was reopened an hour later.

There were no injuries and only minor damage to one vehicle.

Rocky Mountain Power is currently on scene repairing the damage.
