ST. GEORGE, Utah, April 14, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The driver of a motorcycle was transported to the hospital early Friday after he rear-ended a Chevrolet Tahoe and was thrown through the Tahoe’s rear window into the vehicle’s cargo section.

Utah Highway Patrol said the crash occurred at 1:29 a.m. on northbound Interstate 15 near Milepost 13.

According to UHP, the Suzuki motorcycle was behind the Tahoe, but was traveling at a higher speed and rear-ended the SUV.

Upon impact, the motorcycle’s driver broke through the rear window of the Tahoe and landed in its cargo area.

The Suzuki overturned and went off the road to the right, hitting the guardrail.

The driver of the Tahoe pulled off onto the right-hand shoulder. UHP said he was cleared by medical personnel and later drove the Tahoe from the scene.

The driver of the Suzuki was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center. He is expected to survive.

Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash, UHP said.
