PROVO, Utah, Jan. 12, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) An eight-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon closed southbound Interstate 15 just south of University Parkway in Provo.
Sgt. Todd Royce from the Utah Highway Patrol said all five lanes closed at mile post 266 two miles south of University Parkway, after the crash at approximately 12:30 p.m. The freeway was fully reopened by 1:15 p.m.
Royce said there have only been minor injuries to one person, and that person was transported to hospital to be checked out.
He said it’s not clear exactly what caused the crash but the roads are wet and slushy. Drivers are being advised to slow down and allow a few extra minutes to complete their journeys, Royce added.
