WEST VALLEY CITY/TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, Nov. 25, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Highway Patrol is at the scene of a couple of pile-ups Monday night on Interstate 215’s west belt at 4700 South.
Troopers are shutting down that area of the freeway.
Drivers should use an alternate route and avoid being out on the road unless it’s absolutely necessary.
UHP Sgt. Nick Street said a crash at 7:37 p.m. involved nine vehicles, and a second crash at 8:20 p.m. involved six vehicles, all southbound.
Drivers approaching the scene were losing control on the slick roadway.
Street said there were no serious injuries in either crash, but at least one person was transported to the hospital with a minor injury.
Gephardt Daily will update this developing story as more information becomes available.
