GREEN RIVER, Utah, July 28, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A Colorado man died from injuries sustained in a collision on Interstate 70, just east of Green River.

Utah Highway Patrol said in a news release the collision occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, at milepost 199, when a 1991 Chevy Beretta was traveling eastbound. The Chevy was driven by 19-year-old Edward Lyman from Clifton, Colo.

The news release said the Chevy was in the right lane, traveling at a slow speed. Lyman made a sudden lane change to attempt entry at a freeway turnaround on the left.

The Chevy was hit broadside in the driver-side door by a Hyundai Sonata traveling at highway speed in the left lane. The Hyundai was registered out of Colorado and was occupied by two females.

The occupants of the Hyundai were not injured.

  1. My heart goes out to this young mans family. My husband was the truck driver who held edwards hand as he died. I was on the phone with him when it happened. If edwards sister reads this, i am so sorry for your loss, and how you discovered the accident. My husband wanted to write a letter to the family offering his condolences and to let them know he did everything he could to make him feel comfort and to make him know he was not alone.

  2. We drove by this accident after a Great day at the Arches National Park. The white vehicle in the center looked bad. My girlfriend and I prayed that no one was seriously hurt. We just got home from the trip and looked to find info and we are so sorry to find out someone died. To Edwards family we are so sorry for your loss.-Bruce & Monica
