OGDEN, Utah, Jan. 29, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews battled a blaze at a commercial manufacturing facility in Ogden Tuesday morning.

A news release from Ogden City Fire Department said crews were dispatched to Albion Manufacturing Tech at 2774 S. 1760 West at 10:20 a.m.

“Upon arrival, crews reported heavy smoke coming from vents in the upper portion of the commercial manufacturing facility,” the news release said. “All employees were able to safely exit the structure prior to fire department arrival.”

Crews were able to make access and quickly extinguish the fire, the news release said. The fire was contained to a large stainless steel hopper that contains chemicals used in the manufacturing process.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

The cause of the fire has been determined to be caused by a fire in the filters of the hopper system.

“Damage estimates are not available at this time due to the highly complex nature of the manufacturing system,” the news release said.

A total of 32 firefighters from Ogden City, Roy City, and Weber Fire District responded with two ladder trucks, five engines, one paramedic rescue, three ambulances, one Deputy Fire Marshal and the Battalion Chief.
