TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 6, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews are battling two brush fires in Tooele after a power line sparked flames on Canyon Road Tuesday afternoon, causing power outages.

North Tooele Fire tweeted at 4:30 p.m.:

“Our crews are en route. No updates on when power will be restored in the area. Will post updates when available.”

An additional fire is being reported in the area of Lake Shore Drive due to the issue, and drivers are being urged to avoid the area to allow crews to battle the blaze.

Power is out along State Route 36 from Interstate 80 to Stansbury Parkway, a follow-up tweet said.

“Anticipate significant traffic delays in the area,” the tweet said. “Law enforcement en route to direct traffic until power is restored.”

Officials did not say how big the brush fires are.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
