Crews battle grass fire in South Salt Lake

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, Sept. 12, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — South Salt Lake fire crews are working to contain a grass fire Wednesday afternoon.

Officials said the fire is in the area of 3005 S. 1030 West, which is near Utah Transit Authority TRAX lines.

Officials have not yet said how big the fire is or what caused it.

UTA tweeted riders should expect a 10 to 15 minute delay between River Trail and the Salt Lake International Airport on northbound Green Line trains. A bus bridge has been activated between Redwood Junction and River Trail on the Green Line due to the fire. Northbound Green Line trains will reverse at Redwood Junction and southbound trains will reverse at River Trail.

South Salt Lake Fire has been joined by South Jordan Fire and Unified Fire Authority in battling the blaze.
