Crews battling 2-alarm fire in Magna junkyard

MAGNA, Utah, June 12, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews are battling a two-alarm structure fire in a Magna junkyard Wednesday afternoon.

The incident is in the area of 1980 S. 7200 West, the Salt Lake City Fire Department said in a tweet at 12:15 p.m. SLC Fire tweeted photos that appear to indicate it may be a trailer that is on fire.

No other details were immediately available and it’s not clear if there are any injuries as a result of the fire.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Roads are closed in the area while crews battle the fire.

Officials said there was a training exercise going on in the area which prompted a multi-jurisdictional response from SLC Fire, Unified Fire Authority and West Valley City Fire Department.
