SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 12, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews contained a fire at the Salt Lake City landfill early Wednesday morning.
“Earlier this morning fire crews responded to a fire at the City landfill 6030 W. California Ave.,” said a tweet from the Salt Lake City Fire Department at 2 a.m.
Crews were on standby while landfill workers attempted to extinguish the fire with heavy equipment, the tweet said.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire, officials said.
The tweet said fire crews cleared the scene and the fire was contained but still active.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
