BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah, May 30, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews are fighting a wildfire east of Deweyville in Flat Canyon, officials said Wednesday.
“It is located on wilderness land up on a ridge,” Mitch Zundel with Box Elder County Fire wrote on Facebook. “It probably started by lightning Monday evening and with the sun and breeze it has kicked up and is visible.”
This fire is known by the fire officials and there is no need to report it, Zundel wrote.
“Please let the public know to not call 911 or dispatch,” he added.
Honeyville Fire is on the call assisted by other jurisdictions.
Zundel wrote the size of the fire is not yet known and there is no estimate on the amount it is contained at this time.
