SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 18, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake City Fire Department was dispatched to a residential fire Saturday near 300 North and 1300 West.

When crews arrived shortly at about 6:15 p.m., they found “a small kitchen fire that got out of hand,” said SLCFD Capt. Tony Stowe.

“They got a quick knockdown on it, and it was contained to the kitchen,” Stowe said.

There were no injuries, and occupants were evacuated temporarily while fire crews ventilated the home.

Stowe said the cause of the fire is under investigation, and officials did not yet have an estimate of damage.

Gephardt Daily will update this story as more information becomes available.
