TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, July 10, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Fire crews from North Tooele Fire District and Grantsville Fire Department are on the scene of a lightning-caused brush fire north of Timpie late Monday night.

The fire was reported to cover about an acre, NTCFD tweeted.

Initially, crews responded shortly after 11 p.m. to a call of a brush fire at the Grantsville reservoir, but nothing was showing, and heavy lightning in the area had personnel sheltering in their vehicles while waiting for the storm to clear.

They then moved to the area north of Timpie, where they remain on scene.

Gephardt Daily will update this developing story as more information becomes available.
