ALPINE, Utah, May 8, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews responded to the scene of a gas leak on North Main in Alpine Wednesday afternoon.

A Facebook post from Lone Peak Police at 1:30 p.m. asked drivers to stay away from the area of 600 North and Main Street.

Phone messages were sent to residents within a two block radius asking them to evacuate, officials said.

Lone Peak Police posted at 4:45 p.m.: “The evacuation order has been lifted. Main Street is still closed for traffic, but it already was due to the construction. Except for a few houses right on the corner of Pioneer and Main, the area is open. Thanks for everyone’s patience that lives in the area.”

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
