Lights out in Kaysville after accident knocks down power lines

KAYSVILLE, Utah, Nov. 11, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — About half of Kaysville is without power Saturday morning after a driver collided with a power pole at approximately 4 a.m.

Kaysville City Power and the Utah Department of Transportation are working to restore the power pole, but Kaysville police have said some residents could be without power until Sunday.

In addition, a UDOT Twitter post indicated the ramps at the Kaysville exit, 328, remain closed in both directions.

I-15 was also closed in both directions before returning to normal by about 7:30 a.m.

The driver who was taken to the hospital as a precaution, and has been released.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
