WEST POINT, Utah, Dec. 31, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — One person is dead after an officer-involved critical incident Monday night in West Point.
Taylor West, Chief Deputy of Law Enforcement at the Davis County Sheriff’s Office, told Gephardt Daily, the “officer-involved critical incident” happened at about 8:30 p.m. after officers were dispatched to the area of 2300 West and 600 North. While West did not elaborate on the nature of the O-I-C-I, he did confirm one person died, adding that the deceased was not a member of law enforcement.
“The Davis County officer-involved critical incident protocol team is handling the investigation, which is a team comprised of investigators from several agencies in Davis County,” he said.
West said he could not disclose the cause of death or the gender or age of the deceased person, but more information would possibly be released on Tuesday.
“There’s no public safety threat and there’s nobody outstanding,” West said.
