DAVIS COUNTY, Utah, June 29, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — The Mosquito Abatement District of Davis County has confirmed the virus has been detected in multiple locations in the 2026 season.
The agency’s information page does not provide dates, numbers or exact locations, but does list the following cities: Centerville, North Salt Lake, Sunset, Syracuse, West Bountiful and Woods Cross.
The agency encouarages all residents to to protect themselves from West Nile virus by doing the following:
- Use insect repellent, according to label directions.
- Empty any water holding containers in yard which do not need to have water in them and change out the water in bird baths and horse troughs weekly.
- Wear long-sleeved, loose fitting, light-colored clothing.
- When possible, avoid prolonged outdoor activity at dawn and dusk.
