CENTERVILLE, Utah, May 1, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A pickup truck driver critically injured in an early morning crash on I-15 has died.

The accident happened at approximately 5:30 a.m. Sunday when a semi hauling two trailers collided with a pickup truck on southbound I-15 near Centerville.

A news release from Utah Highway Patrol said the pickup truck, driven by Chris Hulse, 61, from Magna, was traveling southbound near Parrish Lane in Centerville.

A semi truck was pulled over in the right emergency lane because of the high wind warning. For an unknown reason, possibly wind, the pickup veered to the right and slammed into the back of the parked semi truck.

Hulse was transported to the hospital in Bountiful where he died from his injuries. He was not wearing his seat belt.
