DAVIS COUNTY, Utah, May 17, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Davis County woman was jailed on Thursday after allegedly firing shots at her estranged husband as he fled following an argument regarding their ongoing divorce.

Dianne McLean, 55, has been booked on suspicion of aggravated assault and two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child. All charges are third-degree felonies.

“Subject engaged in a verbal argument with her estranged husband concerning an ongoing divorce at her home,” says a probable cause statement filed by an officer of the Davis County Sheriff’s Office.

“During the argument the subject became enraged, stating she was going to ‘do it,’ and retrieved a handgun.

“Fearing for his safety, the husband began to leave the home in his vehicle and, while doing so, heard and observed the subject fire two rounds from the handgun in his direction as he was driving away.”

The husband called 911 and drove to safety, the statement says.

“The subject hid inside a vehicle at the home with the gun and was called out when the police arrived. The gun was found inside the vehicle with two empty casings. The subjects purse, ID, and phone were found inside the truck.

“The subjects two grandchildren, ages 1 and 2, were inside the home during the argument and were woken by the noise. The subject was arrested and transported to the DCSO jail.”

McLean’s bail has been set at $15,000.
