Lockout On Elementary School Lifted After Davis County Robbery

SUNSET, Utah, March 10, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A lockout on Doxey Elementary School, put in place after an armed robbery in Davis County Thursday morning, has been lifted, officials confirm.

Police officers initially responded to the report of a robbery near 1147 N. Main St. in Sunset just after 8 a.m.

The suspect was armed with a handgun, and departed the area on foot.

According to the Utah Department of Transportation, officials then closed Main Street between 650 North and 800 North for about 20 minutes immediately after the robbery.

Davis School District Spokesman Chris Williams said the lockout at the school, at 944 N. 200 West, lasted for approximately half an hour.

The robbery suspect is still at large.
