CEDAR CITY, Utah, Jan. 26, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the open house, cultural celebration and dedication dates for three temples, including Cedar City.

The other two temples are in Tucson, Arizona and Meridian, Idaho, according to a news release from the LDS Church.

The free public open house for the temple in Cedar City will begin on Oct. 27, and continue through Nov. 18, except for the Sundays of Oct. 29,  and Nov. 5 and 12.

The cultural celebration will be Dec. 9. The temple will be dedicated the following day in three sessions, at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. The dedication will be broadcast to members of the Church in Utah.

Church President Thomas S. Monson announced construction of the temple at the Church’s April 2013 General Conference.

The temple is at 300 S. Cove Drive in Cedar City. It will serve members in southern Utah and eastern Nevada.

Ground was broken for the temple Aug. 8, 2015. This will be the Church’s 17th temple in Utah. There are more than two million Latter-day Saints in Utah.

The free public open house for the Tucson Arizona Temple will begin in June, with the cultural celebration and the dedication in August, and the open house for the Meridian Idaho Temple will begin in October, with the cultural celebration and dedication in November.
