UTAH COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 17, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Gerald Salcido, who was arrested on multiple child sex abuse-related charges out of Maricopa County, Arizona, was officially fired Tuesday from his job as a Utah County Sheriff’s deputy.
Salcido, 63, was extradited to Arizona after he was arrested in Orem at the request of Maricopa County officials.
On Tuesday, UCSO Sgt. Spencer Cannon tweeted, “Jerry Salcido, arrested in a 1985 sexual abuse case in Mesa, Arizona, has been terminated from employment as a Deputy with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.”
Under the present circumstances, Salcido had missed too many days of work and was unable to fulfill his duties as a deputy, so his employment was terminated.
