Teen Critically Injured In Redwood Road Crash Released From Hosptial

WEST JORDAN, UTAH, November 27, 2015  (Gephardt Daily) ─ A 17-year-old girl who was is in critical condition after the car she was riding in was broadsided by a pick-up truck Monday night was released from the hospital Tuesday.

According to West Jordan Police Sgt. Joe Monson, the girl had a rough night but recovered enough the next day to be released and sent home.

Police Lt. Richard Bell said the 17-year-old girl and the 19-year-old male driver of a Honda Accord were passing westbound through the intersection at 8200 South and Redwood Road around 6:45 p.m. when they were T-boned by a southbound Ford Ranger pick-up truck.

The girl, whose identity was not released, was pinned inside the Honda and had to be extricated from the car by first responders. She was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray with life-threatening injuries.

The 19-year-old driver of the Honda was hospitalized in fair condition.

The 27-year-old male driver of the Ford Ranger was unhurt.
