SANDY, Utah, Feb. 12, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 90-year-old man was killed Friday night after being struck by an SUV near 300 East 10600 in Sandy.
According to Sandy police Lt. John Arnold, officers were called to the scene at about 7:45 p.m. with reports of an auto-pedestrian accident.
When first responders arrived, they found an elderly male victim already deceased. He’s since been identified as longtime Sandy resident David Feldman.
Investigators say Feldman was crossing the street in an effort to find his dog when he was struck by a westbound SUV. He was not in a crosswalk when he was hit.
Police say there’s no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of the driver and they do not expect charges to be filed.
