DASH CAM: Distracted Driver Seriously Injured After Narrowly Missing UHP Trooper

CEDAR CITY, UTAH – October 12, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A distracted driver narrowly missed a Utah Highway Patrol Trooper before rolling her car on I-15 Sunday evening.

According to UHP, the trooper was on a traffic stop near Cedar City when a who woman became distracted by her cell phone swerved off to the side of the freeway. The driver, a 55-year-old woman from Cedar City, looked up just in time and swerved to the left, narrowly missing the trooper.

The woman then over-corrected to the right and went off the right side of I-15 rolling several times. The driver, who had to be extricated from her car, was transported to Valley View Medical Center in serious condition and later air lifted to St. George with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
