SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, March 25, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The state of Utah has filed a motion to dismiss the domestic abuse case against Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street.

Street, a Park City resident, faced charges related to a Dec. 23 fight with her father, which occurred in the presence of a child.

According to a motion to dismiss filed in court Thursday, the State of Utah has moved to dismiss the case without prejudice.

The state’s motion indicates authorities “became aware of additional witness statements. Based on those statements, the State believes that this case would be more appropriately handled in a civil or administrative forum by Utah’s Adult and Aging Services Division.”

The incident late last year reportedly followed an incident in which Street shoveled snow so her parents could get out of her house, then her father struck the house with the car while attempting to leave. That sparked yelling, and reportedly a physical altercation.
