SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 5, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Mother Nature put on quite show Sunday night with an electrifying lightning display along the Wasatch Front.
The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City says the unsettled weather is a harbinger of things to come, as a wave of monsoonal moisture makes its way into Utah over the next few days.
According to the NWS, Utahns can expect to see more dramatic weather starting Monday afternoon with isolated pockets of heavy rain and gusting winds.
Tuesday into Wednesday another surge of monsoonal moisture will creep into southern Utah spawning patches of rough weather, including heavy downpours, lightning and the threat of flash flooding.
The NWS says areas “near burn scars, slot canyons, normally dry washes and areas with poor drainage” are especially vulnerable and folks frolicking in Utah’s outback should pay close attention to local forecasts.
