WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Aug. 7. 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The 20-year-old driver of an SUV that officials say hit a stopped UTA bus has been rushed to the hospital in serious condition.

The accident happened after 2 p.m. in the area of 4200 South and 5600 West, near Hunter High School.

Carl Arky, Utah Transit Authority spokesman, said the public bus was stopped at the moment of the impact. No one on the UTA bus was hurt, Arky said.

The SUV driver, whose name and gender have not yet been revealed, was seriously injured, Arky said. That person was transported to a nearby hospital. Arky was not sure if anyone else was riding in the SUV.
