MIDVALE, Utah, Sept. 6, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman is in critical condition after suffering a grand mal seizure while driving in Midvale Monday.

Troopers were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on I-15 northbound near 8400 South at approximately 4 p.m., according to a news release from the Utah Highway Patrol.

Upon arrival, the female driver was found unconscious and unresponsive. She was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray in critical condition.

“According to witnesses, the vehicle was in lane four and the driver appeared to be unconscious,” the news release said. “The vehicle went to the left, crossing three traffic lanes and the HOV lane before impacting the left concrete wall.

“The vehicle slid down the wall for a short distance and then veered to the right, crossed all six travel lanes and impacting the right concrete wall. It then spun 180 degrees and came to rest facing southbound in northbound lanes.”

Subsequent evaluation at the hospital revealed the female driver had suffered a grand mal seizure while driving.
