MURRAY, Utah, March 27, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Emergency crews responded to a serious rollover accident late Tuesday night near 360 W. 5300 South, under the Interstate 15 overpass.

Sgt. Marvin Barlow, of the Murray Police Department, said the call came in a little before midnight, and when officers arrived on scene, they found that a passenger car had been flipped over, and the other vehicle, an SUV, had side-impact damage.

The driver of the passenger car was pinned inside, Barlow said, and once officers got the man out of the vehicle, he was transported to the hospital in critical but stable condition.

The drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles, and Barlow was not aware of any injuries to the driver of the SUV.

“It was a pretty hard impact,” Barlow said, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team was called out to assist in determining how the crash occurred.

Only one eastbound lane was open while authorities were on scene.
