WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, July 14, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — One driver was transported to the hospital after a two-car collision early Sunday in West Valley City.

The collision, at 3500 South and 4000 West, was dispatched at 1:15 a.m.

“Early indications are that the driver who caused the accident ran a red light,” Lt. Vincent, West Valley City Police, told Gephardt Daily. “It looks like the vehicle that got hit was going westbound on 3500 South, basically like a T-bone type crash.”

Vincent said the driver of the car that was struck was not seriously injured.

“The driver that caused the crash was allegedly investigated for DUI,” he said. “I don’t know what the outcome of that was, that there were things indicative of DUI found in the vehicle to lead detectives to believe that an individual was under the influence.

“That individual ended up getting transported to the hospital in stable condition.”

Gephardt Daily will share any additional information that is released.
