SANDY, Utah, Dec. 8, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police responded to a report of a traffic accident at Jordan Commons on Saturday night and things were going well until one of the involved parties abruptly left the scene.

The accident, at about 8:30 p.m. at 9270 S. State St., was minor with no injuries, Sandy Police Sgt. Jason Nielsen told Gephardt Daily.

It involved a Subaru passenger car and a Toyota Tacoma.

“The officers arrive, the suspect involved is cooperative, but then decides to leave,” Nielsen said. “They already had his information, so they went to his house and waited for him.”

When the suspect saw the officers outside his home, he put the Tacoma into reverse for some distance, parked, and then fled on foot into his house.

Nielsen said the 30-year-old man was taken into custody without incident.

Officials are looking into whether alcohol may have been involved, and Nielsen said the man may be facing multiple charges, pending the outcome of the investigation.
