MIDVALE, Utah, March 10, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Police officials are requesting that drivers find an alternative route after a crash that left two men in critical condition in Midvale Sunday afternoon.

Unified Police Department tweeted at 2:45 p.m.: “Serious crash at 8000 S. State St. NB State and EB/WB 8000 S. closed. Southbound is open. Please avoid the area if possible and find alternate routes.”

UPD officials said a white car was heading north on State Street, and as it went through the 8000 South intersection, it crashed into a black passenger car that was heading south. The black car was turning left onto 8000 South.

The white car then went airborne and rolled, before landing and catching fire. The driver was ejected from the white car, officials said.

Two men were transported to area hospitals in critical condition. The two men were the only people in the cars.

Both speed and impairment are being looked into as factors in the crash.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is released.
