Mourners pay respects to late LDS president Thomas S. Monson

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 11, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Thursday held a public viewing for Pres. Thomas S. Monson.

The doors opened at 7 a.m., and tens of thousands filed passed Monson’s casket paying their respects before doors close at 8 p.m.

The LDS Church provided photos of some of the early visitors, shown in the gallery below.
Monson’s funeral will be held at noon Friday in the same location as the viewing, at the LDS Conference Center, 50. W. North Temple, Salt Lake City. The funeral is open to those age 8 and older, and all must be in their seats before 11:30 a.m.
The Center has approximately 21,000 seats, and expected to fill to capacity. Arrive early for best chance of seating.
