PAROWAN, Utah, June 19, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Agents with the Iron/Garfield/Beaver Drug Task Force made a key arrest Monday when they seized more than 12 grams of methamphetamine.

According to a news release from the Parowan Police Department, one of their officers has been attached to the Task Force for more than a year.

After several months of investigation and working with the Utah Highway Patrol K-9 division and the U.S. Postal Inspector, the Task Force intercepted a package that was shipped through the mail to the post office in Parowan, where officials believe most of the drug would have been sold.

A search warrant was served on the package, and agents found the meth hidden in snack cakes, the news release said. Officials did not name the suspects in the case.

The release concluded with the Parowan Police Department expressing thanks for “the working relationships with our local, State and Federal partners. We would not be as successful without the relationships established, community partnerships and leadership of Agency Administrators.”
