MURRAY, Utah, Jan 22. 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Three adults and one infant were transported to the hospital after an accident on Interstate 15 involving a box truck and an SUV Friday morning.

According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce, the incident happened just before 10 a.m. near 5000 South when a trooper was attempting to pull over a man on the freeway.

“This individual would not yield to our trooper so other units were called in,” Royce said. “He wasn’t necessarily speeding, he just would not pull over. Another trooper had to pull up alongside him and flag him down.”

Royce said that driver, 21-year-old Carlos Rodriguez, was being arrested for alleged DUI after a subsequent crash happened due to rubbernecking.

“As they were tending to the incident involving Rodriguez, a box truck rear-ended an SUV that had three adults and an infant inside,” Royce said, “They were all transported to Intermountain Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.”

The driver of the box truck was not injured.
