DUI suspected in westbound 2100 South Redwood Rd exit crash

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 20, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Two people have been injured, one of them critically, in a suspected DUI crash near the Redwood Road off-ramp at westbound 2100 South.

UHP troopers were called to the scene of the crash about 3 a.m. When they arrived they found a passenger car lying on its roof with two men inside.

The driver had minor injuries, but the passenger was trapped and had to be extricated.

He was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.

Investigators said the exact cause of the crash had yet to be determined, but they suspect impaired driving may have been a factor.

The identities of the driver and passenger have yet to be released.
