DWR asks for tips after doe found poached, left at Layton golf course

LAYTON, Utah, Oct. 8, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials are looking for tips from the public after a doe, poached and left to decay, was found in the area of Layton’s Valley View Golf Course.

Last month, a course employee found a bloody arrow and reported it to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. Investigating officers found additional evidence of illegal hunting, according to a DWR statement. The course is located at 1200 N. 2575 East.

About a week later, the deceased doe was found in the same area.

The DWR asks anyone with information about this illegal killing or other wildlife crimes to call the UTiP hotline at 1-800-662-3337 or to email the agency at at [email protected].

A reward may be available if the information you provide leads to a successful conviction. Requests for confidentiality are respected and observed.
