Homes evacuated in Park City after box of dynamite found in residence

PARK CITY, Utah, March 26, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Around 20 homes in Park City were evacuated Monday morning after a construction crew found an old box of dynamite in a residence in Old Town.

A tweet from Park City Fire Department said the dynamite was discovered under a home in Empire Avenue during an excavation.

The fire department along with the police department evacuated the homes so the dynamite could be investigated and safely removed.

The Park City Library has been set up to shelter those evacuated.

A bomb squad is on the scene.
