EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah, May 17, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 33-year-old Eagle Mountain man has been arrested and jailed on 50 first-degree felony charges including rape of a child, sodomy on a child and aggravated sexual abuse of a child, officials said.

A news release from Utah County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Spencer Cannon said that in February, officials with the UCSO Special Victims Unit began investigating a report that a 7-year-old girl had been sexually abused at a home in Eagle Mountain.

Detectives interviewed Johnathon Damion Nixon Thursday, in connection with this case, the news release said.

“During that interview, Nixon admitted that he committed sexual acts with three different 7-year-old girls,” the news release goes on. “With one of the girls the abuse was more extensive, beginning when she was 4 years old and continuing until recently, when that victim was also 7 years old.”

Nixon was booked into jail on three counts of first-degree felony rape of a child, 27 counts of  first-degree felony sodomy on a child, and 20 counts of first-degree felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child-with a prior conviction.

The news release goes on: “In this case, the sexual abuse of a child charges against Nixon are aggravated for two reasons: he occupied a position of special trust in relation to the victims, as he was caring for children who were visiting at his home, and he has a prior conviction for a sex offense.”

The other conviction is the reason Nixon is currently on the Utah Sex Offender Registry, the news release said.

Bail for Nixon has been set at $500,000 cash only.
