EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah, May 8, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — An Eagle Mountain man was booked into the Utah County Jail Wednesday after a search warrant was executed on his residence.

Michael Christopher Skakie, 31, was booked on suspicion of 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

According to a statement issued by the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, on April 7 of this year, investigators with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit and the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force discovered that someone at an address in Eagle Mountain had been downloading and viewing child pornography.

“At least 43 images and videos depicting child pornography had been downloaded at that location,” the statement says.

On Wednesday, officials executed the search warrant.

The pictures and videos found to have been downloaded by Skakie depicted young girls without clothes on and young girls being physically violated, the statement says.

“When interviewed by investigators, Skakie admitted he had been downloading this kind of material for the previous 15 years,” the UCSO statement says.

Bail has not yet been set for Skakie.
